The island of Sebayur Besar is known to offer for the best panoramic sunsets within the Komodo National Park, and the best place to view it is from the top of the island. After a short trek to the top, around 45 min, the cruise director will map out the birds-eye view of the itinerary, pointing out the highlights on the trip. As we make our way back to the beach, stop for a moment to notice how the golden hour covers the island in rich color while the sun while the sky explodes with a myriad of colors. We’ll spend the remainder of the day exploring a portion of the volcano that extends into the Indian ocean and the narrow channel in between.
This area is home to the legendary Komodo dragon. The lizards that live here are the most aggressive, and we’ll keep a safe distance as we watch them patrolling on the beach in search of food. Afterward, we’ll head out to dive a reef known for its impressive macro marine life.
